Murder victim came to UK to 'get away from violence' - The Voice Online

VICTIM: Ibrahim Ali and his family came to the UK to escape violence

MURDER VICTIM Ibrahim Ali's family have spoken out about their loss.

Ali, 20, was fatally stabbed during a fight after a party last Sunday (March 10) morning in Tottenham, north London.

He died after being taken to hospital.

Four men in their 20s have been arrested in connection to the stabbing.

Ali's older sister, Fadumo, 21, told the Haringey Independent: "It is just devastating. My mother is so heartbroken and when we found out we broke down.

"Our home just feels so empty, like something is missing. We're just so upset. When I wake up I think it's all a nightmare but then I see the messages and realise it's all true.

"He was really looking forward to the future and finding a job. He passed his driving theory test and was excited about bringing money in to help our mother. He had a lot of hope.

The family, originally from Somalia, came to the UK in 2002 to escape violence in their homeland. Ali attended local Tottenham schools Seven Sisters primary and Park View Academy.

"We came to this country because we wanted to get away from violence and be peaceful and build our lives", added the sister, who has set up an online donation page to raise money for the charity Islamic Relief in memory of her brother.
