Man, 43, arrested after police recover drugs worth over £100000 - stv.tv

A man has been arrested after police seized drugs worth over £100,000 in Aberdeen.

Officers from Grampian Police found "substantial" quantities of diamorphine and cannabis at a property in the city's Bucksburn area of Aberdeen on Saturday.

The force said a 43-year-old man was arrested and is due to appear at Aberdeen Sheriff Court on Monday.

The arrest followed an intelligence-led operation, a spokesman said.

Sergeant David Ferguson said: "This is a substantial seizure and once again sends out the message that Grampian Police is committed to targeting those who intend to profit by peddling these drugs.

"I would like to take this opportunity to thank the public for their continued assistance in the fight against drugs and to reassure citizens that we will continue to make the Grampian Police area as hostile an environment as possible for those involved in the sale or supply of controlled drugs."

Meanwhile, a 50-year-old man from London is due to appear at Aberdeen Sheriff Court on Monday after being found in possession of cocaine valued at "a five figure sum".

Sergeant Ferguson, who was involved in this enquiry said, ''Yet again this shows that Aberdeen is being targeted by these unscrupulous drug dealers who intend to profit from those in a more vulnerable position."
