Two arrested in undercover drug investigation - WISC Madison

RICHLAND CENTER, Wis. -

Two people in Lone Rock, Wis., were arrested and are in Richland County Jail awaiting bail hearings Friday as a result of a drug investigation that has local, regional and state law enforcement working together.

Frank Bart II, 21, and Pimchanok Khyokham, 20, residing in an apartment at 137 E. Commercial St., are awaiting bail hearings Friday on charges stemming from an undercover drug investigation.

Bart was charged with felony counts of maintaining a drug trafficking dwelling; possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia; two counts of delivery; and possession with intent to deliver.

Khyokham was charged with felony counts of maintaining a drug trafficking dwelling and possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia.

Richland County Sheriff Darrell Berglin said the investigation began with a tip that led to undercover drug buys.

The sheriff said officers from the sheriff's department and Richland Center Police conducted the undercover buys. The Richland-Iowa-Grant Drug Task Force and the Wisconsin Department of Justice Division of Criminal Investigation made a third buy and executed a search warrant Wednesday at 7 p.m.

The sheriff's department said both suspects are originally from Thailand. Local authorities are working with United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement to look into the immigration status of Khyokham, who they believe came to the United States from Thailand about three years ago.

The sheriff reported that the authorities have been notified of Khyokham's arrest.

Berglin said local law enforcement continues to investigate the case.
