Yesterday, officers executed 13 warrants in Mexborough, Conisbrough and Denaby that saw £5,000 cash and drugs with a street value of £5,050 seized. That included worth £3,000 of cannabis, £2,000 of heroin and £50 of valium tablets.Additional drug paraphernalia was also recovered.
At Hawthorne Crescent, Mexborough, a 33-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply, after £2,000 of heroin was discovered. And £5,000 cash was recovered from a property on Maple Road, Mexborough.
At a property on Wath Road, Mexborough, a 33-year-old man was handed a caution for possessing cannabis resin. At Schofield Street, three cannabis plants and 16 Valium tablets were recovered from a property, and a 37-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance. A 37-year-old woman was given a caution for production of cannabis.
A cannabis bush with a street value of about £500 was found at Priory Close, Conisbrough, where a 23-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of production of cannabis with intent to supply.
A caution for production of cannabis was given to a 51-year-old man at Flowitt Street, Mexborough, where two cannabis plants and a 100g cannabis bush were recovered, together totalling about £1,600.
An 18-year-old man was arrested for an assault that occurred in November and a 27-year-old man arrested for burglary.
Three men aged 19 to 21, and a 29-year-old woman were arrested for failing to appear at court for various offences including criminal damage and being drunk and disorderly.
A 24-year-old man was arrested for breach of bail conditions and a 26-year-old man for non compliance with a drugs intervention programme.
Mounted officers also conducted high visibility patrols as PCSOs from the Safer Neighbourhood Teams dished out crime prevention advice.
Chief Inspector Gwyn Thomas said: "We will continue to conduct operations to tackle crime in the Dearne area, as well as across the rest of Doncaster, to ensure those who choose to commit crime or opt to be involved in any type of criminal activity, are brought before the courts and held accountable for their offences."
