Two arrested on charges of vehicle theft - Times of Oman

Muscat: Two Omani siblings have been arrested by the Royal Oman Police (ROP) on the charges of theft and vandalising vehicles of the residents in Al Khuwair area in the wilayat of Bausher.

The Bausher police station, after having received complaints from the victims, arrested the two accused and have referred them to the Public Prosecution for trial.

The ROP has urged people to avoid leaving cash and valuables in a visible places in the vehicles to avoid thefts.

Drug dealers arrested in Ibri
Officers at the Directorate-General for Combating Abuse of Drugs and Psychotropic Substances at the Royal Oman Police (ROP) arrested two drug dealers of Asian nationality in the wilayat of Ibri, last week.

The department's investigation team, acting on a tip-off, launched an investigation that confirmed the involvement of the two in the illicit trade. The team raided the drug dealer's den in the wilayat of Ibri where a substantial amount of drugs was found in their possession.

The accused have been referred to the Public Prosecution for further legal procedures in preparation for the trial before the respective court. 
 
Gas cylinder theft racket busted
The ROP recently cracked the case of thefts of gas cylinders in Ruwi area after arresting a man involved in the crime.

The accused, who had stolen gas cylinders from several houses, has been arrested and referred to the Public Prosecution for further investigation and trial.

The Department of Public Relations at the Royal Oman Police has also urged the citizens and residents to store gas cylinders in a safe place to avoid thefts. They have also been told to take ample safety while storing gas cylinders to avoid fires in homes, restaurants and cafes.
