Two People Killed In East Wichita Accident - KAKE

Central, between Edgemoor and Woodlawn has been reopened to traffic following Sunday's fatal accident. Phill White will have a report coming up at 5:30.


UPDATE 3:45 p.m.: Sunday, February 3, 2013

Wichita Police believe a heart attack or some sort of medical issue lead to a fatal accident Sunday afternoon in east Wichita.

It happened at Central and Brookside between Edgemoor and Woodlawn. Witnesses tell police they say the eastbound vehicle cross the center line, go over a curb into a parking lot on the north side of central and into a ditch.

A man in his mid-to-late 50's died inside of the vehicle. A woman in her late 40's to early 50's was ejected. She was also pronounced dead at the scene.

A dog inside of the car also died. Police are still investigating and no names have been released.

Two people are dead following a rollover accident Sunday afternoon in east Wichita. It happened at Central and Brookside between Edgemoor and Woodlawn around 3 o'clock.

911 dispatch traffic indicates a vehicle may have rolled into a culvert and two people inside of the vehicle were killed at the scene. The accident is still in the early stages of the investigation and no other details have been released.

KAKE News has a crew on scene and we will have more information as soon as it becomes available. For now, Central has been closed to traffic.
