Woman arrested for delivering drugs to Stanley prison inmate - WQOW TV News 18

Stanley (Press Release) - On Thursday, October 4, 2012, at approximately 6 p.m., the Stanley Police Department responded to the Stanley Correctional Institution for a report of a visitor that delivered prescription medication to an inmate in the prison.

Cathleen F. Shook, 57, of Owen, arrived at the Stanley Correctional Institution with her 4-year-old granddaughter to visit her son, Robert L. Bounds Jr., 40, of Stanley (Inmate).  While visiting Bounds, Shook attempted to deliver a large quantity of Tramadol, a prescription medication, to Bounds.  

After being interviewed by officers, Shook was arrested for Delivering Articles to an Inmate; a Class I Felony.  Human Services has been involved because of Shook's grandchild being present.  Shook will also be charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Deliver to a Person in Jail/Prison. Bounds will be referred for charges of being a Party to a Crime.

Earlier this year, Bounds was convicted of Burglary for breaking into InstyMeds Machines and stealing money at hospitals in Stanley, Chippewa Falls, and Osseo in 2011.

Officers at the Stanley Correctional Institution and the Stanley Police Department worked together to close this case.  A K-9 officer from Clark County Sheriff's Office was also utilized.

This is the second large drug bust at the Stanley Correctional Institution within a year.  On December 31, 2011, Suzanna L. Stengel, Bruce, WI, was charged with delivering approximately fourteen (14) balloons of Marijuana to an inmate.  Cooperation among police officers and correctional officers has been crucial to handling these incidents.
