Clarksville sisters arrested at home on drug charges - Newsandtribune

CLARKSVILLE — Police went to a Clarksville home Thursday morning to serve warrants on two sisters living in the residence.

Sarah Maynard, 22, and Rebecca Maynard, 21, both of 120 E. Flamingo Drive, were each wanted for failing to appear on previous court appearances, Clarksville police said. After CPD officers arrived to the home, they were allowed inside by the women's mother. Officers reported going to the door of a bedroom where the mother said Sarah Maynard was located.

Sarah Maynard and her boyfriend were found in the room hiding behind a door, officers reported.

While in the bedroom, officers found, "what appeared to be a marijuana smoking pipe on the floor beside the bed," according to the police report.

Police reported that Sarah Maynard was taken to the living room, and when officers returned to the bedroom to retrieve the pipe, several syringes were discovered in plain view sitting inside a slightly open drawer near the bed. She told the officers that the needles belonged to her and not her boyfriend, according to the report.

Sarah Maynard was preliminarily charged with possession of a syringe, a class D felony, and possession of paraphernalia, a class A misdemeanor, before she was taken to Michael L. Becher Adult Correctional Complex.

During the same visit, officers also went to the bedroom of Rebecca Maynard.

Police reported that upon immediately entering the room they found "corners of baggies throughout the room along with empty bags of syringes," according to the report.

The plastic bags contained brown, powdery substances, which later tested positive as heroin, according to police. A small bag or marijuana was also located in the room, police reported.

"I also noticed that Rebecca's 4-year-old son was lying in the bed in close proximity to the drugs and paraphernalia," the officer noted in report.

Rebecca Maynard was preliminarily charged with possession of heroin, a class D felony, and possession of marijuana, a class A misdemeanor.

Neither woman has been officially charged in court as of press time.
