2 people killed, 4 hurt by falling tree on Highway 2 near Stevens Pass - Northwest Cable News

At least two people were killed after a tree fell onto a suburban on U.S. 2 about 21 miles west of Leavenworth near Stevens Pass, according to Washington State Patrol.

The accident around 1:20 p.m. Friday in the eastbound lanes of U.S. 2.

WSP said a 58-year-old man and a 56-year-old woman from Bothell were pronounced dead at the scene. Four other people, all in their 20s, in the vehicle were injured and transported to Central Washington Hospital in Wenatchee. Their conditions were not known.

U.S. 2 was closed between Milepost 64 at the summit and Milepost 84 east of the summit; it has since reopened in both directions.
