Americans love affair with guns is obscene - Sarnia Observer

Sir: Right on schedule, we have witnessed the latest American massacre. It seems to have become a monthly expectation that some gun-packing, nut-job is going to murder multiple innocent people in the name the U.S. constitution.

 

This time, it was children who posed no threat to anyone.

 

Since 9/11, I have felt strongly that North America needs to keep certain people out of our borders. I now feel we need to keep gun-packing Americans out of Canadian borders. The American love affair with guns is obscene.

 

I have dual citizenship. I can travel freely between Canada and the United States and do so often. Take a drive to any American government office and you will find security guards better armed than most Canadian police officers. Security guards in Port Huron are packing 9mm sidearms because the U.S. is a civilian war zone. The United States is a very sick country.
