Wanted Selkirk man arrested, faces drug charges - Winnipeg Free Press

A Selkirk man wanted by the RCMP following a major drug investigation was arrested last week on break-and-enter charges.

An arrest warrant was issued for Alex Doyle, 25, following a 12-week drug investigation in the Selkirk area this fall that resulted in the arrest of 14 people and more than $100,000 worth of drugs taken off the street.

Doyle had been charged with two counts of cocaine trafficking.

Last week, RCMP said officers responded to a report of a residential break-and-enter on Highway 9A in the RM of St. Andrews on the night of Dec. 13, where a man had allegedly forced his way into a residence using violence.

Police found a suspect in the home and took him into custody.

In addition to the outstanding drug charges, Doyle has been charged with a variety of other charges including: break and enter, pointing a firearm, assault, wearing a disguise, possessing a restricted weapon, and possession of stolen property.

A second suspect was arrested at the scene. Meegwan Courchene, 21, of Selkirk, has been charged with break and enter and failing to comply with probation.

Both people are in custody.
