Four people killed in bus-car collision - New Straits Times


KUALA LIPIS: Four people were killed when the car they were travelling in crashed into an express bus at Km 17 of Jalan Lipis-Merapoh near here around midnight.

The deceased were identified as Honda City passengers - Nur Hamira Baharum, 24; Hasnah Che Hussin, 66; one-year-old Nik Eryna Nik Ahmad, and an Indonesian helper only recognised as Yanti.

The car driver and another passenger, who has yet to be identified, suffered serious injuries and was rushed to the Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah Hospital in Temerloh.

Meanwhile, the Mutiara express bus driver and his passengers, who were travelling from Kuala Lumpur to Kelantan, escaped unhurt.

District police chief Superintendent Abdul Razak Hassan said initial investigations revealed that the Honda City driver had lost control of his vehicle before crashing head-on into the oncoming bus.
