Deputies Report Finding Drugs During Traffic Stop, 2 Arrested - NBC4i.com

HOCKING COUNTY, Ohio -

Two men are facing felony drug charges in Hocking County after deputies found chemicals used to manufacture methamphetamine and methamphetamine in their vehicle following a traffic stop.

According to Sheriff Lanny North, deputies stopped a vehicle on Hartsough Road, near South Perry, for a traffic violation at about 2:16 a.m. on Tuesday.

Deputies reported seeing drug paraphernalia in plain view in the vehicle. The vehicle was searched and deputies reported finding chemicals used in the manufacture of methamphetamine and what appeared to be finished, powdered methamphetamine in the trunk of the vehicle.

Detectives from the Fairfield-Hocking Major Crimes Unit were called to neutralize the meth lab, according to the sheriff's office.

The driver of the vehicle, 18-year-old Jacob D. Hart, of South Bloomingville, was arrested and charged with traffic violations, possession of drug paraphernalia and illegal assembly of chemicals. His passenger, 19-year-old Roy A. Graham Jr., of Laurelville, was also arrested and charged with illegal assembly of chemicals.

Graham and Hart were transported to the Southeastern Ohio Regional Jail.

Additional charges could follow pending a lab test of the items collected from the vehicle.
