Five arrested after Wausau drug bust - WAOW

MARATHON COUNTY (WAOW) -

The Marathon County Sheriff's Department reports that they have arrested five people during a Wausau drug bust.


According to a press release, authorities arrested Will E. Connors and Keion F. Jives of Milwaukee along with Bernard N. Welch "AKA" Harry Pitts, Larry W. King and Victoria Espinoza of Wausau.

Officials accuse the group of being connected with heroin and crack cocaine distribution from two homes in Wausau.


The Sheriff's Department reports that members of the Marathon County Special Investigations Unit and SWAT team along with agents from the Division of Criminal Investigations and the Alcohol Tobacco & Firearms division searched a home on Cherry Street and another on North 6th Avenue on November 1 and found drugs worth about $3000- $5000, according to the release.


Connors and Welch currently face drug trafficking charges, according to the release. The other three are being held on probation violations. Connors and Welch are expected to be in court on Monday, November 5. The Sheriff's department reports they will face charges of Distribution of Controlled Substances, Heroin and Cocaine.
