Salem Police Arrest Man with 189 Baggies of Drugs in his Vehicle - Patch.com

Salem Police arrested a Boston, Mass. man on Saturday who had 189 baggies of crack cocaine, heroin and cocaine in his vehicle and several more in his pocket.

Roberto Agosto-Vazquez, 27, was charged with two felony counts of possession of a controlled drug with intent to distribute and a misdemanor charge of possession of drugs.

According to police, Officer Joshua Dempsey was on routine patrol at 6:05 p.m. in the BJ's Wholesale parking lot when he observed two male subjects acting suspicious in a vehicle.

Upon seeing the police cruiser, the male passenger in the vehicle quickly exited the vehicle and went to another that was close by.

Dempsey spoke with the passenger, who said he drove from Seabrook, N.H. to say 'hi' to a friend.

The driver of the original vehicle was identified as Agosto-Vazquez.

He was arrested for possession of a controlled drug after a brief field interview, at which point Dempsey obtained a search warrant for the vehicle and discovered the other baggies.

Agosto-Vazquez was arraigned at Salem District Court on Monday and his bail was set at $50,000 cash.
