Brothers arrested for drug and weapons possession - Dover Post

  • On Tuesday Jan. 22detectives from the Drug Unit along with members of the Kent County Governor's Task Force responded to a report that Michael D. Cox had an active capias out of a local court.  Upon arrival at the residence in the 500 block of Tobacco Road in Camden-Wyoming, Cox was taken into custody without incident.  Jason P. Cox, Michael's brother, was also contacted at the residence and found to be in possession of two shotgun shells.  Jason and Michael are prohibited from possessing, purchasing, or owning a firearm or ammunition due to previous felony convictions. 

     

    A search warrant was obtained and detectives located 13 guns including shotguns and rifles, one handgun, several rounds of ammunition, over 500 grams of marijuana, 14 hydrocodone pills, and other drug paraphernalia. Five children under the age of 15 were at the residence and were turned over to a family member.

     

    Michael and Jason Cox were transported back to Troop three near Camden where they were charged with the above offenses.  Jason was committed to JTVCC on $40,100 secured bond and Michael was committed on $38,100 secured bond.
