Accident victim aided by cops, gets arrested after drugs, fake gun and ... - The Star Online

MALACCA: Police who came to the aid of an accident victim here Monday were surprised to find an imitation pistol and ammunition, a red plastic sheet with an Eramin 5 pill and a purportedly false National Security Council pass in the name of another individual in his car.

The weapon and ammunition and the pass were found in the BMW car the 45-year-old man had been driving, believed to be a stolen vehicle, following the accident at 3.45am in Bukit Duyong, said Malacca CID chief ACP Raja Shahrom Raja Abdullah.

The pill was found in the man's trouser pocket, he told reporters, adding that the car, bearing false registration plates, had been reported stolen in Bandar Baru Klang.

Raja Shahrom said the man was admitted to the Malacca Hospital with injuries to his face and head after the car he was driving skidded and collided with another car.

He said investigations showed that the man, who was from Malacca, had also been involved in a drug case as well as a cheating case.

Raja Shahrom said that in another case, police arrested a 24-year-old worker of a furniture workshop suspected to have been involved in several cases of robbery, housebreaking and vehicle theft, targeting Universiti Teknologi Mara Students (UiTM) at the Malacca city campus.

He said the man was held at the Salak Selatan bus terminal in Kuala Lumpur as he alighted from a bus at 5.30pm last Friday.

He had previously been sentenced to a six-month prison term in 2011 over a molest case, he said.

Police investigations led to the recovery of a MyVi car, four mobile phones and a laptop computer, he said. - Bernama
