NEW BEDFORD — A drug investigation led to the arrest of a Myrtle Street man and recovery of drugs and cash from his home Wednesday.

Derek J. Arruda, 29, of 157 Myrtle St., Apt. 2, was charged with drug trafficking, distributing Class B drugs, possession of Class E drugs and conspiracy to violate drug laws, according to police.

When Detective Andrew Simmons executed a search warrant at the suspect's apartment at 6:20 p.m., he recovered 200 grams of cocaine, 35 vials of steroids and $6,000 in cash, according to Capt. Steven Vicente.
