Bloomingdale motorcyclist arrested on drug charges after deputies spot him ... - Mlive Kalamazoo

BLOOMINGDALE, MI – The driver of a Harley-Davidson motorcycle was arrested Sunday night in Bloomingdale after sheriff's deputies found him driving erratically and weaving in and out of his lane, authorities said.

When Van Buren County sheriff's deputies stopped the 42-year-old Bloomingdale man at about 9 p.m. at the intersection of West and Rumery streets, he was "leaning excessively" on his motorcycle to the point that deputies feared he was going to fall off, according to a news release.

Deputies said when the man spotted their police cruiser turn around to catch up with him and make a traffic stop, he increased his speed and pulled into a private driveway "to avoid police contact."

Once deputies caught up with him, dexterity tests were performed and the man "displayed to be under the influence of drugs," deputies said in the news release.

Deputies said the man told them he had taken morphine, Vicodin, Flexeril "and numerous other medications."

During a search of the man, deputies said they found a small amount of heroin, methamphetamine and marijuana.

The man, whose name has not been released, was arrested at the scene and taken to the Van Buren County Jail on suspicion of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of drugs and possession of heroin, meth and marijuana, deputies said.
