Middletown police find drugs, arrest two - Middletown Press

MIDDLETOWN >> The Middletown police Street Crime and Special Investigations units and patrol officers on Tuesday seized drugs and made two arrests after executing a search and seizure warrant at 65 Frissell Terrace, the home of Brian Rogers, 40.

Sgt. Richard Davis of street crime said police have received numerous complaints from concerned citizens that there allegedly has been trafficking of large amounts of crack cocaine. Rogers has numerous convictions for narcotic possession, Davis said.

Rogers was located and taken into custody away from the residence, he said.

As detectives entered the residence they discovered Tashema Turner-Roderick, 40, also of 65 Frissell Terrace, in her bedroom. The interior of the home had the strong odor of fresh and burnt marijuana, police said. Turner claimed no knowledge of the crack cocaine trafficking, yet detectives located a bag with 2.6 grams of crack cocaine in the bed with her, police said.

Detectives located several bags of narcotics hidden inside of the residence, according to Davis.

Concealed in the rafters of the first floor, detectives found a large cellophane bag containing 2.48 ounces of crack cocaine. Also in the rafters were 22.8 grams of powder cocaine. Detectives also located 9.2 grams of marijuana throughout the residence, as well as narcotics packaging materials, numerous scales, cellular telephones and cocaine cutting agents, Davis said in a prepared statement.

There was also a significant amount of money seized inside of the residence.

The state Department of Children and Families was notified because a 16-year-old lives in the home.

All of the drugs seized have a combined street value of over $14,500, police said.

Rogers was arrested on the following charges and held on in lieu of $275,00.00 bail: possession of crack cocaine, possession of crack cocaine with intent to sell over a half ounce; possession of crack cocaine with intent to sell within 1,500 feet of public housing; possession of cocaine, possession of marijuana and possession with intent to sell each, as well as intent to sell each within 1,500 feet of public housing.
