Ten arrests after police drug blitz in Redfern - Cumberland Courier Newspapers

POLICE have cracked a major drug supply ring operating in Redfern, arresting 10 people in a series of raids today.

For several months, officers from the Redfern Drug Unit have been investigating the supply of drugs within the region.

Shortly before 10am yesterday, officers executed a search warrant at a home unit in Fischer St, Petersham.

A 52-year-old man and a 29-year-old woman were arrested and taken to Newtown Police Station where they were charged with the ongoing supply of prohibited drugs.

Both were granted conditional bail to appear at Downing Centre Local Court on December 11.

About 1.30pm, officers attended a home unit in John St, Waterloo, and executed a search warrant.

Three alleged offenders, two men and a woman, were arrested and taken to Redfern Police Station.

A 50-year-old woman was charged with the ongoing supply of prohibited drugs, and owner/occupier allow use of a drug premise and bail refused to Central Local Court today.

A 43-year-old man was charged with ongoing supply of prohibited drugs, and owner/occupier allow use of drug premise and bail refused to Central Local Court today.

A 41-year-old man was charged with the ongoing supply of prohibited drugs and refused bail to appear at Central Local Court today.

Several other people were arrested during the operation at various locations across the Redfern Local Area Command.

They included a 29-year-old woman charged with the ongoing supply of prohibited drugs and was bailed to appear in court at a later date.

A 34-year-old man charged with two counts of supply prohibited drugs and was bail refused to appear at Central Local Court today.

A 37-year-old man was charged with supply prohibited drug and was granted conditional bail to appear at Downing Centre Local Court on October 31.

A 47-year-old man and a 26-year-old woman were both charged with supply prohibited drug.

He was granted conditional bail to appear at Downing Centre Local Court on November 13 while she was granted conditional bail at appear the Downing Centre Local Court on November 12.

Investigations into the supply of prohibited drugs within the command are continuing and anyone with information is urged to contact Redfern Police or Crime Stoppers.
