Three arrested after police drugs swoop in West London - Fulham Chronicle

COCAINE and cannabis valued at more than £100,000 has been seized after police busted a Hammersmith and Fulham drugs ring.

Officers swooped at homes in West Kensington and Acton and arrested three men on suspicion of supplying drugs. Three kilogrammes of cocaine and a further kilo of herbal cannabis was seized, along with a quantity of cash in the intelligence-led operation last Thursday (October 4).

Outside a property in Edith Road, West Kensington, police arrested a 49-year-old man allegedly in possession of a substantial amount of cocaine. Inside the address they detained a 25-year-old man and discovered more cocaine and herbal cannabis and saw evidence to suggest the flat was being used for the preparation of the substances for sale.

Paraphernalia including a hydraulic press, which allegedly contained a quantity of white powder in the process of being prepared for distribution, suspected mixing agent, packaging, scales and a substantial sum of money was also recovered.

At a property in Beech Avenue, Acton, a further, substantial quantity of cocaine was discovered in a locked cupboard. A 39-year-old was arrested and the search also yielded further mixing agents, packaging, scales and cash.

DC Jessica Newton, from the Hammersmith and Fulham Crime Squad, hailed the seizures, saying: "This operation has disrupted an alleged organised criminal network involved in the distribution of Class A drugs. Substantial quantities of controlled drugs have been recovered, which were destined for the streets of Hammersmith and Fulham.

"This underlines our commitment to tackle the supply of drugs at every level on the borough. We would like to reassure members of the community that Hammersmith and Fulham police are working tirelessly to combat this problem and bring offenders to justice."

* On Friday, October 5, three men were charged with a variety of offences and appeared at court where they were remanded in custody. They were due to reappear at West London Magistrates' Court on Wednesday (October 10).
