4 People Killed in Accident on I-75 near Franklin - WKRC TV Cincinnati

About 2:30 a.m. Sunday, an accident on Interstate 75 near Franklin in Warren County killed 4 people. According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol a vehicle was traveling southbound in the northbound lanes. That vehicle struck a minivan.

Joshua Nkansah of Fairfield was driving his minivan the wrong direction on I-75 when he struck another minivan head-on.

Nkansah and his 7-year-old son died at the scene. Another child in the car was taken to Atrium Hospital then flown to Children's Hospital with life threatening injuries.

The minivan Nkansah struck was driven by Michele Barhorst from Madisonville, TN.  Michele also died at the scene. Her husband, Scott Barhorst was flown to University of Cincinnati Medical Center where he later died.

The Barhorst also had four of their children in the minivan with them. Their children, ages 8, 9, 11 and 18, were taken to Dayton Children's Hospital and Atrium Hospital.

The crash is still under investigation by the Ohio Sate Highway Patrol but at this point alcohol is suspected to be a contributing factor in the crash.
