During the course of a narcotics investigation, investigators from the Kern County California Multi-Jurisdictional Methamphetamine Enforcement Team received information that Medina was involved in the sale of large amounts of methamphetamine.
Detectives served a search warrant on Medina's residence in the 400 block of Jane Street in Bakersfield shortly before 8 a.m.
They found about 1.4 pounds of methamphetamine, evidence of drug sales, several weapons including an AR-15 style assault rifle; an AK-47 style assault rifle; a 12-gauge shotgun; a high-capacity drum fed 12-gauge shotgun; a Glock 9mm semi-automatic handgun; and a Smith and Wesson 500 revolver, deputies said.A large amount of ammunition for each weapon and several high capacity magazines were also found with the weapons, deputies said.
Martin Medina was booked into Kern County Jail on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance, possession for sales, possession of drugs while armed with a firearm, possession of assault weapons, possession of high-capacity magazines, and maintaining a residence for the purpose of drug sales.
His bail has been set at $175,000.
Juan Medina was booked into the jail on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance. His bail has been set at $10,000.
