Police arrest man suspected of drug, firearm possession - News10.net

MANTECA, CA - Police arrested a man in connection to selling drugs and possession of firearms after a traffic stop Wednesday.

Shawn Strauss, 19, of Manteca was pulled over by the Manteca Police Gang Suppression Unit near the intersection of Pajaro Avenue and Range Court, police said.

During the stop, officers noticed marijuana in plain sight in the car; officers then searched the car and found 1 pound of pot, items used to make drugs, many prescription pills, including Oxycodone, Hydrocodone and miscellaneous psych medication. Police said they also found a .38 caliber revolver.

Police then arrested Strauss.

Officers then followed up the investigation at Strauss's home where they found 700 ecstasy pills, three-quarters-of- a-pound of pot, cocaine and three handguns, one of which was reported stolen, police said.

Strauss was booked into San Joaquin County Jail for several narcotics sales violations, possession of a stolen firearm, possession of a loaded firearm in public and armed during the commission of a felony, police said. His bail is set at $700,000.
