BORDEN-CARLETON Three people were arrested Tuesday on drug-related charges, shortly after coming off the Confederation Bridge in Borden-Carleton.
The arrests were carried out by members of the Prince District JFO Drug Unit and the Criminal Intelligence Service P.E.I.
Police arrested a 49-year-old male, a 45-year-old male and a 55-year-old female, all from P.E.I., who were in a vehicle in the Borden-Carleton area, coming from New Brunswick.
As a result of the search, police located a total of 35, 24-mg hydromorphone capsules, 2.5 grams of cocaine, a cell phone and over $500. The three Island residents were released and will appear in Summerside Provincial Court at a later date.
The investigation is ongoing and charges will be finalized for the three individuals prior to their court appearance.
The Prince District JFO Drug Unit is comprised of officers from the Summerside Police Services and the East and West Prince RCMP detachments and are responsible for street level drug investigations in the Prince District and Summerside City areas.
