Two people have died in a crash on the A65 near Skipton Golf Course.
A 61-year-old woman and an 83-year-old man were pronounced dead at the scene when their pale blue Hyundai i10 collided with a grey Skoda Octavia close to the Grassington roundabout, at around 5.10pm yesterday.
The man and woman, both from Colne, had just passed Skipton Golf Course and were heading towards the roundabout when they hit the Skoda travelling in the opposite direction.
The driver of the Skoda, an 84-year-old man from Addingham, suffered minor injuries in the collision. However, his passenger an 80-year-old woman, also from Addingham, was seriously injured and was airlifted to Leeds General Infirmary.
She is still in hospital in a stable condition.
Anyone who witnessed the collision should contact North Yorkshire Police on 101 select option 2 and ask for Traffic Constable Rick Harper or Skipton Roads Policing Group, quoting reference number 12130093831.
