Man booked for obscene calls to former neighbour - Indian Express

Police have registered a case against a man for allegedly making obscene calls to his former neighbour. The man was booked under a case of stalking after a 37-year-old woman alleged she received phone calls from the accused, identified as Hardeep Singh.

The woman said Singh called her constantly and spoke in an obscene language. According to police, the accused is a farmer and father of two children. The victim said the calls kept coming after Singh moved out of the colony.

Meanwhile, the police traced Singh's location to Batala. According to police, the accused was earlier staying as a tenant in Sector 29 where the victim lives as a tenant.

A case of stalking under section 354-D of the IPC has been registered at Industrial Area police station.

With this, the number of cases of outraging the modesty of a woman till date for this year has reached 159 as compared to 107 in 2012.
