Andray Blatche will make nearly $10 million this season, from amnesty payments and salary. As Brian Windhorst of ESPN reports, the money keeps flowing in.
But he'll have to pay up $15,000 of that total to the NBA, who fined him Saturday for an "obscene gesture" made from the bench in the fourth quarter of the Nets big win over the Heat.
Blatche reacted to a Joe Johnson three-pointer with 2:40 left in the game. The 27-year-old, perhaps driven by irrational exuberance, made a gesture that seemed to indicate Johnson has an extra large set of cojones. It's a move pioneered by Sam Cassell, a mentor of Blatche's and sometimes called "the Sam Cassell Dance."
Is there anything more to say? Probably not, other than it's not likely to hurt his wallet.
Considering Blatche got $70,800 from the Wizards Friday for not playing for them, it still seems like he's ahead though.
