In an act of revenge, a 25-year-old woman posted morphed images of her mother-in-law and sister-in-law on Facebook.

She was arrested on Friday along with her father who was charged with abetting the offence.

Mohanapriya, a resident of Anna Nagar West, married Bangalore-based research analyst Pradeep Kumar (27) on November 30, 2012.

The couple split this March, following which Mohanapriya lodged a complaint with the Bangalore police accusing her husband of domestic violence and harassment. Kumar was picked up and questioned.

Meanwhile, Mohanapriya relocated to her father Ananda Koni Raj's (57) house in Anna Nagar.

"She created a fake Facebook profile and posted photographs of Kumar's mother and sister after morphing their faces on models' bodies. She circulated the images among friends and relatives and also among Kumar's colleagues in Bangalore," said an investigating officer with the cyber crime wing, Central Crime Branch (CCB), city police. Kumar's father Krishnamoorthy (55) lodged a compliant with the commissioner of police S. George and it was forwarded to additional commissioner, CCB, R.S. Nallasivam, who ordered a probe.

"Investigation revealed Mohanapriya's involvement in the circulation of the obscene images, with the connivance of her father," the police said.

Mohanapriya was warned and let off on humanitarian grounds after questioning. But she continued to create trouble by opening new accounts on the social networking site and posting obscene photographs of her in laws.

On Friday morning, Mohanapriya and her father Ananda Koni Raj were arrested by the CCB team, remanded to custody and sent to Puzhal prison.
