Three arrested, police and federal agents seize drugs, loaded gun - Canton Repository

A closed-circuit security camera system with exterior cameras greeted federal drug agents and Canton Police when they raided a northwest Canton home Friday afternoon.

They arrested three people, seizing powder cocaine, marijuana, items used to package and sell them and a loaded gun.

Jeremy W. Schrader and Heather L. Chamberlain, both 26-year-old residents of 812 19th St. NW, were arrested on several felony drug charges, Stark County Jail records show.

An unidentified woman who does not live in the house was also arrested and charged with being present where drugs are used or sold, said Lt. John Gabbard, who heads the SIU. The charge is a misdemeanor.

The police department's Special Investigations Unit investigators and FBI and U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration agents went to the home at 1 p.m. armed with search warrants signed by Stark County Common Pleas Judge Kristin Framer after a months-long investigation into drug trafficking from the home, Gabbard said.

Police seized a loaded .22-caliber pistol, 21.9 grams of powder cocaine, 202 grams of marijuana, more than a dozen prescription pills, several digital scales containing the residue of illegal drugs, razor blades, baggies and other drug paraphernalia, marijuana pipes, grinders, the closed-circuit security video system with multiple exterior cameras and an undisclosed amount of money believed to have been the proceeds of illegal drug sales.

Jail records said police and agents found the gun in Schrader's pocket.

He and Chamberlain were each jailed on charges of cocaine trafficking and possession, marijuana trafficking and possession, felony drug possession, misdemeanor drug possession and drug paraphernalia possession.

Schrader was additionally charged with having weapons under disability. The charge stems from a previous prison stint.

He went to prison in 2006 for felonious assault and burglary, Columbiana County court records show.

"Further charges are likely to result after lab examinations of other substances recovered in the home," Gabbard said. He did not say what those substances were.
