GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- Two men are facing drug charges after large amounts of cocaine, marijuana and cash were found at a residence they were at during the execution of a search warrant.
Gerald Richardson, 30, and Marcus Chatman, 26, were arrested Wednesday after the Gainesville Alachua County Drug Task Force executed the warrant at a home in the 1000 block of NE 8th Avenue, according to a release from Gainesville Police Department Public Information Officer Ben Tobias.
Richardson is charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute and Chatman is being charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
Stolen items were also collected from the residence by the GPD Special Operations Unit, as it appears that those living in the house were trading the items for drugs.
"This residence was being used as a point of sale for illegal narcotics. With the execution of this search warrant, we have put a large dent in the drug activity in this part of the community," Tobias said.
