A house fire south of Edmonton has left three people dead, and RCMP are investigating.
Hobbema RCMP, along with Muskwachees Fire and paramedics were called to a house fire on the Samson First Nation just after 4 a.m. on Sunday.
When crews arrived, the burning house had been fully engulfed firefighters searched the home, and found three victims inside.
The three people were pronounced dead on the scene.
CTV News has learned the three victims were Latashia Omeasoo, her best friend Chelsea Swampy and Swampy's boyfriend Dan Larocque all between the ages of 25 and 26-years-old.
Crews contained and put out the fire a short time later.
RCMP said Provincial Fire Investigators, and RCMP investigators are working to determine the cause of the fire.
The blaze is not believed to be criminal.
Pending their report, no details will be released.
The deceased are also members of the Maskwacis community.
"Today is a very tragic day, our community is facing another sadness with the loss of three young individuals who have perished," Tribal Leader Kirk Buffalo said.
Community members are planning a wake to remember all three people killed in the fire.
