Two women were arrested Thursday during a probation check in Eureka for possessing suspected heroin and drug paraphernalia.
Patrol officers with the Eureka Police Department conducted a probation check at a residence on the 1900 block of Fourth Street in Eureka, according to a press release. Officers detained four people at the location, all of whom were on probation.
Two of the subjects, identified as Haley Maria Adams and Deanna Marie Maez, were found to be in possession of suspected heroin and drug paraphernalia. Both were taken into custody. The other two subjects were released at the scene, the release said.
Officers reported seizing 24.4 grams of suspected heroin and $1,197 in suspected drug proceeds. The release said the street value of the heroin is about $2,000. The women were booked into the Humboldt County jail.
Maez was arrested on suspicion of possessing a controlled substance for the purpose of selling it, possessing drug paraphernalia, and violating probation. She was released after posting $50,000 bail, the release said.
Adams was arrested on suspicion of the same violations as Maez. However, she also had an active felony warrant for her arrest. The release said she was still being held Friday on a $25,000 bail.
