4 people arrested after St. John deputies investigate drug activity complaints - NOLA.com

A complaint about drug activity led St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff's Deputies to a Reserve apartment complex on East 26th Street on Thursday where authorities say they found illegal drugs and guns, one of which had been reported stolen.

Four people were arrested and booked in with various charges into the parish jail. No bond had been set on Friday.

In the apartment of Ted Edwards Jr., 26 and Dajerel Daguinod, 23, authorities say they found marijuana, cocaine, bottles of codeine and drug paraphernalia, two handguns, a shotgun and two rifles. One of the rifles was reported stolen, authorities say.

While deputies were searching that apartment they smelled a "strong odor of marijuana coming from an upstairs apartment," according to a press release issued by the Sheriff's Office. While executing a search warrant for the apartment of Michael Sanders Jr., 32, and Ebonie Sanders, 36, authorities say deputies recovered marijuana, crack cocaine, codeine, Xanax and drug paraphernalia.

Edwards Jr. was booked with possession of firearms while in possession of CDS, possession of a stolen firearm, possession of marijuana, possession of cocaine, possession of promethazine/codeine, possession of a legend drug, possession of CDS in the presence of a juvenile, removal of symbol required by uniform CDS law, possession of drug paraphernalia, felon in possession of a firearm and outstanding arrest warrant.

Daguinod, was booked with possession of firearms while in possession of CDS, possession of a stolen firearm, possession of marijuana, possession of cocaine, possession of promethazine/codeine, possession of a legend drug, possession of CDS in the presence of a juvenile, removal of symbol required by uniform CDS law and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Michael Sanders, Jr. and Ebonie Sanders were both booked with possession of crack cocaine, possession of promethazine/codeine, possession of Xanax, possession of drug paraphernalia and obstruction of justice.
