TWO people have been arrested on suspicion of drugs offences in Wirksworth.

The arrests came after police found a large quantity of suspected cannabis and production kit at a house in Water Lane.

A 62-year-old man and a 43-year-old woman were arrested on suspicion of producing a class B controlled drug.

Both have been bailed pending further enquiries.

The suspected drugs were discovered by police during a visit to the property at about 12.50pm on Monday, September 9.

Sergeant Adam Bryan, from Matlock Safer Neighbourhood Team, said: "I'd urge anyone who has information relating to suspected drug production, dealing or other activity to call police and let us know so we can work to keep our communities safe."
