Teen arrested on allegations of dealing Molly - Boston Globe

Police on Friday raided the home of a West Bridgewater teen suspected of dealing the club drug Molly, cocaine, and marijuana, police said.

Detectives had been following Kyle E. MacKinnon, 17, for more than a month, police said in a statement. With a warrant, they searched his home on Matfield Street starting at 5:30 a.m. and found what they believe are 23 grams of Molly, 26 grams of cocaine, half a pound of marijuana, digital scales and small plastic bags commonly used to package drugs.

Police also found ammunition, firearms manuals, and a gun holster, but no guns.

This was the first time the a task force made up of police from Bridgewater, West and East Bridgewater, Whitman, and Bridgewater State University, seized Molly in their yearlong investigation of the drug, police said.

Molly, purportedly a pure form of ecstasy, is blamed for at least three deaths in recent weeks. Brittany Flannigan, 19, died of a suspected overdose at the House of Blues in Boston Aug. 28. On Aug. 31, Olivia Rotondo, 20, of North Providence, R.I., and Jeffrey Russ, 23, of Rochester, N.Y., died in New York City of suspected overdoses at the Electric Zoo Festival.

Police charged MacKinnon with two counts of trafficking Class B substances, cocaine and Molly, one count of possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, and unlawful possession of firearm ammunition. He was arraigned in Brockton District Court Friday and held on $75,000 bail.

His bail was revoked in another open case. Both West Bridgewater Police and Plymouth County District Attorney's spokeswoman Bridget Norton Middleton said they did not know what the case was and will not have access the public court records until Monday morning.
