Ventura police arrest seven on various drugs charges in separate incidents - Ventura County Star

Ventura police arrested seven people on various drugs charges in separate incidents Thursday and Friday, officials said Saturday.

Officers searched a man on probation about 8:30 p.m. Thursday in the 1500 block of East Thompson Boulevard. Police said they found a small amount of methamphetamine, and the 34-year-old Ventura man was arrested on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance.

Officers then contacted a 51-year-old Ventura woman about 9:25 p.m. Thursday in the 1000 block of East Front Street and found drug paraphernalia on her, police said. She was cited and released.

About 11:55 p.m. Thursday, officers responded to a suspicious vehicle in the parking lot of the Motel 6 on Harbor Boulevard. Officers arrested a 27-year-old Ventura man in the vehicle on suspicion of possessing methamphetamine, heroin and drug paraphernalia, police said. They also arrested a 21-year-old Ojai man in a motel room who was found with methamphetamine and medication he didn't have a prescription for, officials said.

Around the same time, officers responded to reports of a homeless person disturbing people in the parking lot of the Denny's restaurant on Harbor. A 46-year-old Ventura transient, who was on parole, was arrested on suspicion of possessing drug paraphernalia.

Authorities then responded about 1:20 a.m. Friday to reports of people smoking drugs in the 500 block of East Thompson Boulevard. Officers arrested a 42-year-old Ventura woman on suspicion of multiple drug violations, officials said.

About 2:30 a.m. Friday, officers responded to reports of a prowler in the 3000 block of Bayshore Avenue and arrested a 22-year-old Ventura man on suspicion of possessing methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia, police said.
