Youngstown man and woman arrested in Campbell on drug charges

CAMPBELL

Two Youngstown residents were arrested on drug charges after police followed up on a report of aggravated menacing in the 300 block of Devitt Avenue.

Late Monday, a Devitt Avenue homeowner told police that a man and a woman in a white SUV came to her house twice, threatening on the second occasion to cause serious harm to both her and her family over a debt her son allegedly owed the man.

A short time later, an officer parked near the residence noticed a white SUV approach the house and pull into the driveway. Police immediately detected a strong smell of marijuana coming from the SUV, and also noticed a bag containing suspected marijuana in plain view on the driver's seat.

The driver, identified as 53-year-old Charles V. Sewell, of Evanston Avenue, was placed under arrest, and police then found two additional bags of suspected marijuana in his pockets, along with a metal pipe that contained suspected marijuana residue.

The passenger, 33-year-old Nesheka A. Parker, of West Indianola Avenue, was holding a can of tear gas and had an activated stun gun on her seat.

An inventory of the SUV revealed three bags of suspected marijuana, rolling papers, and 336 Tramadol pills contained in a bottle labeled for 180 pills. Police also seized $130 in cash from Parker and $82 from Sewell.

Sewell was charged with trafficking in drugs, aggravated menacing, possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia, and driving under suspension.

Parker was charged with trafficking in drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia, not having a proper prescription label, and falsification, as she provided incorrect identification information to police at the time of arrest.
