Teacher held for posting student's obscene pics, clips on facebook - Republica

ITAHARI, March 7: A school teacher has been arrested for allegedly sexually exploiting and posting obscene pictures and video clips of his former girl student on social networking site in Belbari VDC of Morang.

The Area Police Office (APO) of Belbari on Tuesday arrested Ganesh Dulal, who was working as a teacher at Sagarmatha English Boarding School in Belbari, for luring his former girl student into having sexual relationship with him and then posting her naked pictures on Facebook and spreading her sex video clips through mobile.

The police arrested Dulal after the girl, who now studies in grade 11 of Bhagawati Higher Secondary School of Belbari, formally lodged a complaint at the Belbari APO. The girl, who had passed SLC exams from Sagarmatha Boarding School last year, has also registered a complaint at ABC Nepal, a local NGO that fights violence against women.

"He (Dulal) had had sex with the girl several times by promising to marry her," said Bishnu Sharma, President of ABC Nepal. "Later, when he somehow took the girl´s obscene pictures and video clips, he continued to sexually exploit her by threatening to expose her on social media." Sharma said her organization will help the girl fight a legal battle.

Talking to Republica over phone, the girl´s mother said she was shocked to see her daughter´s semi-naked photos. She also claimed that Dulal had been sexually exploiting her daughter for over the last two years. "My daughter says she is innocent," she told Republica.

The girl has claimed that Dulal took her obscene pictures and videos by intoxicating her. She has also professed ignorance about what Dulal did when she was unconscious.

Meanwhile, Sagarmath Boarding School has expelled Dulal by issuing a statement on Wednesday. "He was expelled because whatever he did was deemed to be against social norms and values," said the school´s principal Iran Rai. Dulal was a math teacher at primary level of the school.
