YADKINVILLE A drug investigation that lasted more than a year has resulted in the arrest of 11 people on more than 100 charges, Yadkin County Sheriff William R. Oliver said.
Law-enforcement officers executed three search warrants and searched vehicles and a motel room on Thursday, Oliver said.
The Yadkin County Sheriff's Office, along with the Yadkin Valley Drug Task Force, the Yadkinville Police Department, the East Bend Police Department and the N.C. State Bureau of Investigation worked together on the effort, known as the "Community Impact" operation.
The operation has targeted "street level" drug dealers in Yadkin County, Oliver said. Among the charges filed were charges of trafficking in cocaine and opiates and maintaining residences for selling and using illegal drugs.
