President Barack Obama stated that he is willing to cut entitlements including Medicare. As a participant of Medicare, I strongly object. When I was contributing to FICA, the amount was actuarially sound, so changing it retroactively is just plain wrong. The COLA is already insufficient, so lowering it is a crime against the elderly.
The tax code has been bastardized over the decades so that probably only 0.0001 percent of the population understand all of it, if that many. No telling who benefits from the loopholes.
There is no legitimate reason that those of us with limited means should have to sacrifice so the richest 1 percent can keep their obscene wealth.
