Aroundtown: Six arrested for drug peddling - Indian Express

NEW DELHI: Six persons, including two Nigerian nationals, were arrested for their alleged involvement in several drug peddling cases, police said on Wednesday. They claimed to have recovered drugs worth over Rs 8 crore (3.5 kg of heroin and 6.2 kg of hashish) from them. The Special Cell arrested them from the Delhi Cantonment area, after a tip-off. Police identified the six as Anil Pratap Singh Chauhan (50), Arun Kumar (46), P Mary Zelem (49), Raju Diwakar alias Pappu (42), and Nigerian nationals Alex Emechebe (30) and Alloy Frank Michael alias Zidan (31). Two other gang members were on the run, police said.

Five nabbed for forcing girl into prostitution

NEW DELHI: Five persons, including parents of a 15-year-old girl, were arrested for allegedly forcing her into prostitution. Police said the girl escaped her captors and hid at her relatives house in Bhalswa Dairy. Police said her parents were receiving a monthly fee from the pimp. When the girl escaped, the pimp stopped sending money. Her parents then lodged a complaint which said that the girl was missing. During investigation, we found out that the girls father had incurred debts. Three pimps Ravinder Singh, Shanno and Sachin have also been arrested, a police officer said. The girl told police that her parents beat her up when she refused to be sold to the pimps.
