Two people killed in Balochistan violence

* Bullet-riddled body found in Uthal area of Lasbela

QUETTA: Two people, including a teacher, were killed and two others wounded in separate incidents of violence while a bullet-riddled body was found dumped in Balochistan on Thursday.

According to police, unidentified armed men opened fire on a Model High School science teacher, Abdul Ahad, in Chitkan area of district Panjgur.

Resultantly, the teacher sustained serious wounds and died on way to hospital.

The local administration moved the body to hospital for medico-legal formalities and later handed over it to heirs for burial. However, motive behind the killing could not be ascertained.

In the second incident, a man was killed in Sara Ghardgi area, outskirts of Quetta.

Levies officials said the man, identified as Ahmadullah, was shot dead by armed men in Zarghoonabad area.

Levies moved the body to Civil Hospital Quetta and registered a case against unidentified people.

Separately, two people were wounded when armed men opened fire on them at Western Bypass near Mengalabad. As a result, the two people received injuries and were moved to Bolan Medical Complex Hospital. The injured were identified as Zakir and Ibrahim.

Police said that the injured were returning to the city after buying vegetables from Hazarganji vegetable and fruit market when the armed men attacked them, adding that the attackers escaped when police opened fire on them.

Police said the injured belonged to Hazara community.

Meanwhile, acting on a tip-off, police found a bullet-riddled body in Uthal area of Lasbela district and moved it to hospital for post-mortem. The deceased was identified as Akbar.

Police officials said that the victim was shot in the head and chest and marks of torture were also visible on the body. However, the cause of the killing could not be ascertained.
