Mozambican arrested for drugs - Bangkok Post

Bangkok police have arrested a Mozambican national on charges of producing and distributing crystal methamphetamine, the city police chief said on Monday.

Bangkok Metropolitan Police Chief Pol Lt Gen Kamronwit Thupkrachang announced the arrest of Files Maria Litsuhee on charges of production and sales of ya ice and heroin.

Police set up a sting operation on Saturday and lured the suspect to Soi Nana.

He was arrested with 112 grams of crystal meth and 5.2 grams of heroin in his possession when he revealed himself to an investigator, who posed as a buyer, Pol Lt Gen Kamronwit said.

The suspect is reported to have set up a lab in a rented house in Samut Prakan province. He has allegedly been producing and selling drugs in the kingdom for about one year.

Police raided the house and found several substances used to produce methamphetamine. According to the Anti-Narcotics Division, the substances found in the lab could be used to produce about 1kg of crystal meth.

According to statistics revealed by the National Police Office, 15 foreigners were arrested on drugs charges in January, including Lao, Vietnamese and Nigerian nationals.

A total of 520,000 methamphetamine tablets, 30kg of crystal meth and 2.2kg of heroin, worth about 117 million baht, were seized from them.
