4 people killed in Floyd County crash - WLKY Louisville

FLOYD COUNTY, Ind. —

Four people are dead after a two-car crash on Highway 111 in Floyd County.

Police said just after midnight a Yellow Cab, traveling south on Highway 111 ran off the roadway.

WLKY was told the driver attempted to compensate, but struck another vehicle.

Three passengers in the cab were pronounced dead at the scene. They were later identified as 31-year-old Michael Roby, 39-year-old Tara Hirsekorn and 23-year-old Laura Weigard.

The driver of the other car, later identified as Thomas Stinson Jr., was flown to University of Louisville Hospital but later died from their injuries.

Officers said the cab driver was conscious at the scene but was also taken to UofL Hospital in serious condition.

Sheriff Darrell Mills said it's not clear what caused the crash or if drugs or alcohol were involved.

Police said it's possible that speed may have been a factor.

A number of agencies responded to the scene and are investigating.
