Indore: A girl prepared a fake profile of a well-known woman director of a private firm on social networking website Facebook and posted objectionable e-mails to defame her. A case under IT Act was registered at Tukoganj police station.
A woman director of a private firm situated at MG Road had filed a complaint with State Cyber Cell, Bhopal, about some unidentified accused.
The victim Kavita (name changed) had stated that some unidentified person prepared a fake profile at the social networking website in her name and attached some obscene emails using vulgar and filthy language and also posted some tampered images. She had suspected a girl namely Ayushi behind this act to defame her and also mentioned that Ayushi either works or stays opposite Treasure Island Shopping Mall in Tukoganj area.
When some acquaintances noticed the vulgar emails and tampered images in her name at Facebook, they immediately informed her.
"During investigation, cops from Cyber Cell traced a mobile phone no 99090-15674 used for preparing fake profile at social networking website" additional SP Crime Jitendra Singh told DNA.
However, the above mentioned number is presently not in service. The case was forwarded to Cyber Cell, Indore and a case under Sections 66, 67 of the IT Act and 509 of the IPC was registered against Ayushi at Tukoganj police station, Singh added. Police could not trace the accused till filing of this report.
