Kathy Griffin is making no apologies for what the Parents Television Council is calling an obscene, televised antic she attempted with Anderson Cooper on CNN's New Year's Eve Live.

The comedian bent her head down in Anderson's lap, mimicking an oral sex act, after the ball dropped in Times Square. David Letterman asked her about the incident during his late-night talk show Wednesday.

"If you think this is the part where I'm going to apologize, you are sorely mistaken," she said. "I tried, ladies and gays, I tried. For you."

Letterman aired the clip and asked, "Let's say a man on television did that to you. What would your reaction be?"

"If it was Anderson Cooper, myself and every other gay guy and woman, I'd unzip so fast," she replied. "Hands down."

Gas, meet fire.

The president of the Parents Television Council wasted no time Wednesday — well before "Late Night With David Letterman" aired — skewering Griffin for her "increasing contempt for the audience."

Tim Winter continued in a statement, saying, "The onus is now on CNN. Either the network has a policy that allows its on-air talent to fondle a co-anchor's genitals, or it has a policy that forbids such conduct."

No word yet from CNN or Anderson.
