Fort Myers police seize $3000 in drugs, arrest 5 on drug charges - The News-Press

Fort Myers police arrested one person and seized several drugs valued at $3,000 after serving a search warrant Friday afternoon.

The police department's special investigations group, with the assistance of a SWAT team, executed the search warrant at 2958 Montclair Avenue following a two-month investigation started by detectives.

Police seized 3 grams of crack cocaine, 9.7 grams of cocaine hydrochloride, 14 grams of MDMA (Ecstasy,) 77 grams of marijuana, drug paraphernalia and drug cooking materials.

Police also seized three handguns, including a Ruger 257 magnum, a Firestorm 9mm semi-automatic and a Taurus 45 caliber semi-automatic.

Police arrested Clinnie Taylor, 42, for possession for marijuana with the intent to sell, within 1,000 feet of a school, and possession of cocaine.

More arrests are pending after further investigation.

In addition, police officers conducted a "buy bust" drug operation targeting street level drug dealers. Undercover officers purchased illegal drugs in various areas of the city, leading to arrests of the following.

Eddie Jackson, 49, was arrested for sale and possession of cocaine.
Billy Coleman, 30, was arrested for sale and possession of cocaine.
Nicholas Campbell, 25, was arrested for sale and possession of cocaine within 1000 feet of a school.
Kotoyia Johnson, 30 was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia.
Chanel Hall, 28, was arrested for sale and possession of cocaine.
