5 arrested in connection with drug sales in Little Falls - NorthJersey.com

LITTLE FALLS - An investigation into the sale of illegal drugs at a Woodcliff Avenue home led to the arrest of five people Thursday night, police said.

Authorities arrested and charged one person with possession of cocaine and drug paraphernalia, one person for possession of less than 50 grams of marijuana and three people for possession of drug paraphernalia, said Detective Sgt. Jim Briggs.

"We were told by numerous confidential informants that drugs were being sold by certain individual at a certain location," he said. "Based on that investigation I did obtain a search warrant."

The warrant was for 18-year-old Little Falls resident Anthony Mangione's 2010 Nissan Ultima and his friend's home, according to Briggs.

"When we hit the friend's house, the friend, the mother, the roommate and another individual all had drug paraphernalia," Briggs said.

Along with the others, Mangione is scheduled to appear in Little Falls Municipal Court on Jan. 8. Briggs said that because of the cocaine charge, all those arrested will go to Passaic County Superior Court.

Briggs credits the confidential informants for their help in combating drug crime.

"We welcome the public's help in combating these issues," he said.
